Snapt! — Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026 · App Version 1.1.1
Snapt is a synchronised photo-taking app that helps friends capture photos together at the same moment. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
Session information
Snapt collects minimal data. Session IDs (temporary 6-character codes) are used to connect devices, along with connection data to enable real-time synchronisation and a count of devices in a session. Session data is temporary and deleted when your session ends. We do not store session IDs or connection logs permanently.
Photos and montages
When you enable montages, photos are temporarily uploaded to our servers to create a combined image. All photos are deleted immediately after processing. Montages are stored for 24 hours from the time of creation and then permanently deleted. We never access, view, or retain your photos beyond this temporary processing window.
No personal data
We do NOT collect names, email addresses, or contact information; location data; device identifiers beyond temporary session connections; usage analytics or tracking data; or any personally identifiable information.
Data storage & security
Our servers (hosted on Railway.app) only facilitate real-time connections. Session data exists only during active sessions (typically 1–5 minutes). All connections use secure WebSocket protocols (wss://).
Your rights
You control your data. Delete photos from your photo library at any time. Close the app to disconnect and delete session data. Uninstalling removes all app data from your device.

Kia ora, I'm Kit
Indie app developer · Ōtautahi Christchurch, NZStarted out with a love of cars, vehicle designer I will be. I completed 3 years in product and industrial design at college in the UK to end up as a grahpic designer. Many years of that, ran a website company for seven of the years, amongst teacher and freelancing, retrained as a project manager and now tinkering with apps, which I'm quite enjoying! My career experience has given me many tools that I've been leaning on, to knock out some app ideas that have been rattling around for some time now. Enjoy
PS for my love of cars that I still have, I have a 1988 Lancia Delta which I will (one day) restomod. Watch this space.
